Ginsberg's Farm, published by Caliban Press
A tribute to Beat poet Allen Ginsberg in the form of an exquisitely wrapped triptych/ icon, published on the 50th anniversary of the release of his work Howl by Caliban Press. Printed on handmade papers the book pays reference to Ginsberg’s practice of Tibetan Buddhism, including two woodblock sutras on orange and blue papers that were originally conceived for the Dalai Lama. The text, by Mark McMurray, poetically recounts a visit to Ginsberg’s ‘poetry farm’ in upstate New York. At the centre is a photographic work of Ginsberg by Mellon Tytell. The book also includes a small vial of soil taken from the farm. This is a Fine first edition published by Caliban Press and is one from an edition of just forty, signed and numbered by both contributors.
