Night Work

CASSIUS&Co. is delighted to present its fourth exhibition, the last of its inaugural year, Night Work, a group exhibition of paintings and works on paper by Raphael Egil, Dominique Knowles, Kaoli Mashio and Dorothea Stiegemann.

About the artists:

Raphael Egil was born in St. Gallen, Switzerland, in 1975, and now lives and works outside of Lucerne, where he graduated from the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst in 2000. His work has been presented in group exhibitions across Europe, and since 2018 he has been represented by Galerie Michael Werner, with whom he has presented several solo exhibitions. The exhibition Raphael Egil: Paintings inaugurated CASSIUS&Co.'s London gallery in 2021.

Dominique Knowles was born in the Bahamas in 1996, and now lives and works between Paris and the US. Since receiving his MFA in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago he has exhibited widely in the US, Europe and the Caribbean, including solo and group exhibitions at Emanuel Layr Gallery, Vienna, The Green Gallery, Milwaukee, White Columns, New York, Misako & Rosen, Tokyo, Halle 14, Leipzig, and the National Gallery of the Bahamas. Night Work will be the artist’s first presentation with CASSIUS&Co.

Kaoli Mashio was born in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, in 1976. In 2004 she moved to Europe to pursue a career as an artist, ultimately graduating from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in 2011. Her work has been presented in group exhibitions across Japan and Europe, and solo exhibitions of her work have been held in London and in Düsseldorf, including the 2021/22 exhibition at CASSIUS&Co., Kaoli Mashio: 19.20.21.

Dorothea Stiegemann was born in 1983 in Gießen, Germany. She graduated from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where she studied under Jörg Immendorff and as a Master's student of Peter Doig. Her work has been presented in group exhibitions at galleries across Germany as well as in London, Florence and Nagoya, including the 2021 exhibition at CASSIUS&Co., Dorothea Stiegemann: Eden. She lives and works in Berlin.
